Corinne M. Litzenberg Schultheis

Corinne Litzenberg has always been passionate about the natural world, especially the Chesapeake Bay and any coastal beach. With her doctorate in Environmental Education from Wilmington University, Corinne helped her school, Elk Neck Elementary, become the first elementary school in Cecil County, Maryland to be recognized as a Green School.

She has taught second and third grade for twenty-either years. Corinne enjoys educating children and adults about sea glass and its environmental history and impact on our waterways.Dr. Litzenberg teaches nautical art form and has created the sea glass art in this book. All of her books focus on teaching children environmental practices through character activism. Through this book, Corinne hopes that readers of all ages will be reminded to recycle both glass and plastics, and conserve out beaches for future generations.

Corinne has also written a series of four historical-fiction children’s books about the Chesapeake Bay, Flocktales from the Flats, The Sand Lady, A Cape May Tale, An Ocean City, Maryland Tale, and Grandpa’s Basement. She also wrote The Teacher Who Made A Difference, a non-profit children’s book about overcoming stuttering published by the Stuttering Foundation of America which is available on the foundation’s website.
